Member content & communications

Aware Super was undertaking a multi-year transformation to simplify the business and deliver a better experience for members, employees, and employers. The project consolidated multiple systems, insurance models, and investment menus under one brand and technology ecosystem.

​

I worked in a small team producing the regulatory Significant Event Notices (SENs) and accompanying cover letters for more than 1 million members. My role included creating clear, accurate, and actionable communications while managing input and approvals from up to 30 subject matter experts, compliance, legal, department heads, and executives. Across 18 member cohorts, all SENs were completed on a tight regulatory deadline.

Outcomes:

  • SENs were praised by the ATO as “great, very clear and easy to read,” a rare compliment from a regulator.

  • Despite the scale of the mail-out, calls to member support were around 20% lower than comparable previous campaigns.

  • Delivered fully compliant, accurate communications across all cohorts on schedule, supporting member understanding during a major transformation.

I also worked on Aware Super’s BAU SENs, distributed annually with member statements. These followed the same rigorous process as the transformation SENs, with tight deadlines and strict compliance requirements.

​

In addition, I produced three versions of SuperNews, Aware Super’s annual print magazine distributed to several hundred thousand members. I managed the full production process: sourcing and writing articles, coordinating feedback and approvals from subject matter experts, compliance, and legal, liaising with the design agency through multiple iterations, and working with the mailhouse for distribution.

Outcomes:

  • Delivered fully compliant SENs on schedule, maintaining clarity and accessibility for members.

  • Produced large-scale print communications that effectively engaged hundreds of thousands of members.

  • Managed end-to-end production processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely distribution.
